Four try first half performance.

The under 15's had 8 players 15 minutes before kick off watching Rochford's squad of 18 go through their warm up drills.
Another three players turned up after their lie in and Sam and Lewis from the u14's stepping in to make 13.
Kindly Rochford lent us two players and we had a game.

You would have thought it was The Bee's that had the long organised warm up instead of slinging on their shirts and kicking off.
The dominated the opening exchanges and scored first after four minutes. Alex W took a pass from scrum half Luke from a tap penalty and was cut down a yard short. From the following ruck our other prop Joe L picked up and drove over the line and scored.

Rochford came back from the kick off, which was not fielded by a Billericay player to score and convert on six minutes. 5-7

Now not so long ago this group may have dropped their heads but now they pick them up and took the game back to Rochford.
Bees second try came after good work from Oliver H and Elliot B scrum half Luke dived over for his first try for the club.

Sadly Billericay failed to collect the kickoff again and Rochford scored to regain the lead. 10-14.

Billericay's next score came from a scrum 22m out. Picked up by Oliver H who charged hard for the line but again Rochford's defence stopped a Bee a couple of yards short but a superb one handed off load to Sam P playing on the wing and the try was scored under the posts. Jake converting.

Soon after Phillips had a double. Collecting a pass after the ball passed through several pairs of hands. Out spring the cover defence to score in the corner.

After their best half of rugby ever Billericay led 22-12 at half time.

Sadly playing up the slope at Willlowbrook and the fact Rochford cut out silly mistakes that littered their first half the Bees conceded 29 unanswered points in the second half.

Despite this the boys know that they are improving with every game. They still commit to every training session, every game, every week despite a small squad of players, five of whom were missing this week through injury, illness or holidays. Each and every player came off that pitch a better player than the one that entered it and that's all we can ask.

They've all been asked to try and convince a friend to come and join us to boost our numbers.
If you know or are a year 10 boy and would like to play a regular game of rugby please get in touch.

Andy.
