The Tour that beat the virus ! Billericay RFC U14 enjoy fantastic tour at Milton Keynes!

Travelling squad : Samuel, Thomas, Alfie, Archie, Toby, Harry I, Joe, Robert, Ted, Conor, Harry S, Charlie, Lucas, Chase, Louis

When God created Milton Keynes he offered them sunshine or roundabouts and they took roundabouts !! (and concrete cows !) the weather may have been damp but the Billericay U14 Tour 2020 was a fantastic event filled with memories for the boys and their parents and guardians who came along.
The saying is 'what goes on tour stays on tour' so I'll stick to the key details ! The tour started with a training session at our host club, Milton Keynes RUFC, a big club with excellent facilities and a warm welcome. A hearty lunch and a trip across town to the Xscape centre for a fun sledging session for all in the Snozone. The next plan was to watch Italy v England at the hotel, obviously this match fell victim to the COVID-19 virus so instead we played some excellent games, enjoyed a good dinner and a quiz and everyone was tucked up in bed with a mug of Horlicks by 9pm....
The next day Billericay U14 travelled over to MK RUFC for two matches; the first against Leighton Buzzard RFC who brought a very strong 'A' Team, this was a tough game for the Bees but they recovered from a slow start to improve in the second half. The second match was against Milton Keynes RUFC Development squad which the Bees put in a determined and energetic effort securing a narrow win.

We would like to thank Milton Keynes RUFC for being perfect hosts over the weekend and for all their hospitality and kindness, we would love to welcome them back to Willowbrook for a return fixture one day.

With the RFU suspending all rugby until the 14th April, this could be the last rugby the boys get this season, if it is, then what a way to close what has been a tough but exciting season full of ups and downs. The boys have stayed strong and have never given up, a great example of youth rugby core values.

Well done boys, take a bow and the applause, you deserve it
