Division 1 Old Brentwoods visited Billericay for the second round of the Essex Waterfall Cup. Being a Division 3 side, Billericay knew that it would be a hard match and that they would have to be at their best today to stand a chance of upsetting the odds. Unfortunately immediately from the kick off the Bees put themselves under pressure by giving possession away too easily and Old Brentwoods worked the opening try and that set the tone for the majority of the game. Old Brentwoods were a very well organised and well drilled side with a good defensive line speed and good positional discipline and kept the pressure on Billericay from start to finish. The Bees forwards were a good match for them in the scrums but it was in open play where Billericay struggled most and their handling and passing was not as good as it was the previous week. The Billericay U13s have shown this season however, that even when the final result is all but certain, they never drop their heads, they showed some really good glimpses of what they are capable of, ran in two scores of their own and will look ahead to the next match in 3 weeks time. The match was played in an excellent spirit, both teams showing great respect for each other and the referees decisions and were a credit to their clubs.
