Billericay versus Romford Match report

December, how quickly time has flown we are nearly half way through the season.
With Christmas round the corner we have been generally lucky with the weather, and the pitches and have been lucky enough not to have to cancel any rugby.
To be honest a late night in the chequers is not the best preparation for coaching on a Sunday, waking up late at 9 o'clock and being out the door twenty minutes later was an achievement.
So with a good amount of time to warm up we introduced the idea of positions. Running through the warm up all the players seemed to like the idea of the positions and it spread the players across the pitch nicely.
We adapted the plan with playing 8 a side, but I am pleased they appear to like the change and so we will carry on with it.

I think Romford provided a good challenge and an enjoyable 2 games for both the players and parents. At the end of the game all the players said they enjoyed it apart from Alex who requested that I turn the temperature up next time. So I am trying to book better weather for all the rest of the games.
We saw some great passes and catches throughout the games. The players were more spread out and made some good passes to try and move the ball into space.
The tackling was improving and an ingenious coaching tactic may be great for the players but unfortunately not great for the parents. Using the baby shark song and the arm action of daddy shark we tried to encourage the players to wrapper there arms round the player they were tackling. So apologies for any parents who spent the rest of the name hearing the song be sung.
