Bees u16 come back from 26-10 down at half time to win 40-38 at Romford.
After their last win against division 1 Brentwood in the cup we had a much changed starting line up with players also playing out of position to hand the lads a tough challenge and to avoid complacency. Our wider squad players were given the starting role in a move some thought risky.
We took the lead with a penalty but Romford scored four first half tries to our one by the half.
As coaches Dave and Mario slowly started to reorganize the line up and set the lads the challenge of coming from behind and to see what they can do under pressure.
We took the lead for the first time with 5 to go with our fifth try of the half to go 37-33 up but to their credit Romford scored to go 38-37 up.
From the kick off Romford knocked on and from that scrum we won a penalty.
Sam Fisher calmly slotted that over from 30m.
The guys dealt with the exit from the kick off and a last play knock on from Romford at the lineout sealed the win.
The decision to do what we did with the team today was totally accepted by the whole group and to the finishers , as Eddie Jones would have called them, very well done. To keep calm in clawing back a 16 point half time deficit shows just how good the squad is.
Massive credit to all 23 that played a part today.
